“No pre-show jitters for trumpeter, Scott Macomber at the first performance of the season, Elgar & Mozart. Scott was able to showcase his exquisite and powerful skill during several solos throughout the program.”

“…(in) Lincoln for baritone, English horn, trumpet, and string orchestra, the instrumental soloists…contribute well-shaped phrases and tight ensemble…"

— Mike Telin, Cleveland Classical

“Scott Macomber is a first-rate trumpet player.  His playing has character and eloquence.  I first worked with him on my opera “The Dreamers” in 1996; in the 6-performance run of the opera, he never played a wrong or out-of-tune note.  I was honored to include him as soloist on the recording of my work “Lincoln,” which he played with great expression. I first knew Scott as a student in one of my graduate Music History classes at the San Francisco Conservatory, so it is especially gratifying to now count him as a valued colleague.”

— David Conte, Professor;
Chair, Composition Department; SFCM
